Stations Of The Cross

Injustice, betrayal, torture - death. Each year, on Good Friday, the people of Ethnos gather to remember the high price paid for our redemption.

The Stations of the Cross is an experiential journey - a deeply moving artistic reenactment of Jesus' last days on Earth. Thirteen "stations" lead you through Christ's final steps and sufferings, from his prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane to his ultimate death and burial. At each stop along the journey, you will be encouraged to pray together, to read and meditate on a passage of Scripture, and to participate in a relevant activity.

Because of its interactive format, The Stations of the Cross is a powerful experience for small groups or families (even those with young children).

As a Resource

Created and constructed by members of our congregation in 2006, the Stations of the Cross is an Ethnos tradition almost as old as the church itself. Each year we have invited other communities to share this powerful experience with us. In 2007 we chose to make the information on the stations available to the public via our website. We hope that other churches or communities can use the following documents as a resource in creating their own meditative journey (or reconstructing ours).

Here you will find a description of each station, including pictures, and a list of necessary materials. You will also have access to any prepared scripture, prayers, or documents used by Ethnos in constructing our stations.

We hope that you find these resources helpful. For any questions about the resources on this page or to attend our Stations of the Cross labyrinth, please contact Ciara.
