Mission Statement
We who serve in the E-Kids ministry are striving to support parents in raising Godly individuals in culturally relevant ways.
We attempt to do that by:
- Creating a welcoming environment where Children are free to explore the teachings of the Bible and the freedom the Word brings
- Leading children to Christ
- Supporting the spiritual growth and maturity of the children of E-Kids
- Providing Parents with opportunities to better their skills as parents through the application of Biblical truths
- To help children understand they are a part of the church now and aid them in participating in ministry within the church
Family Worship
What is the purpose of the Family Worship times at Ethnos?
God has divinely entrusted us, as parents, with the spiritual development of our children. The concept behind family worship times are rooted in a biblical mandate summarized in Deuteronomy 6:5-9:
"And you must love the Lord your God with all you hear, all you soul and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are away on a journey, when you are lying down and when you are getting up again. Tie them to your hands as a reminder, and wear them on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your house and your gates."
The goal is to share a message that all can gain something from. Only you as the parent can meet your own family's unique needs, but here are a couple of suggestions: After family worship you could choose an evening that consistently works well for your family. Start off the time by eating together. After dinner, move into a more comfortable room for the remainder of your time. Feel free to invite friends and neighbors to join you in this special time and watch God bless all involved. If the person who is delivering the message during family worship has provided discussion questions, please use them. It's the heart of those who work within children's ministry here at Ethnos to equip kids and parents with the truth of God's word.
We at Ethnos realize the demands our culture puts on us as adults and how that affects our ability to parent. We also realize the culture in which our children are born is not the same as the one we were born into. With internet, computer/video games and ever increasing prevalence of media in the lives of our children the gospel can often get shoved to the side as a priority.
